This rose petal breath is useful for releasing physical tension from the features of the face. When we are able to soft excess tension in the body we decrease the experience of pain. Visualization techniques are also used during the meditation of a soft opening rose. This imagery is thought to help soften the muscles and supportive tissues within the pelvic floor. Expecting parents are encouraged to practice this breath technique frequently throughout pregnancy so that this relaxation technique will be remembered and more easily practiced during labour and delivery.
