In this 30 minute practice, Diana guides you into a relaxed restorative yoga pose to enjoy breath work and sound work to relax the pelvic floor. This practice is helpful throughout your pregnancy to prepare for labour and delivery and it can also be used throughout your postpartum period for relaxation, emotional regulation and general wellbeing.
I highly encourage you to practice this breath technique with your partner or your labour support person, so that you get used to breathing and making sounds together. It can be a really nice way to calm the nervous system in the body, to lower stress hormones in the blood stream, and to encourage more blood supply to your uterus. It's also a really nice way to promote relaxation and bonding with your partner and your baby. You can practice these sounds together in any comfortable position: laying together in bed, seated back to back, or standing leaning against your partner in the slow dance position. Remember that you don't have to be in labour to benefit from sound work. You can also use these techniques anytime in your life when you feel busy, overwhelmed, afraid or stressed.
