Windows Down, Heart Open

At our Summer Solstice practice together, we paused to reflect on our intentions for the season ahead. As we shared in circle, a few themes emerged again and again: simplicity, relaxation, and connecting with nature.

One image, shared by more than one person, has stayed with me all summer: driving with the windows down, hair blowing freely in the breeze.

At the end of June, after attending a beautiful birth, I found myself needing to decompress after hours of holding space. So I did exactly that. I rolled down the windows, let my hair out of its ponytail, turned up the music, sang at the top of my lungs, laughed, and cried.

It was exactly what my heart needed.

Moments like that remind me how important it is to make space—not only for others, but for ourselves. They remind me that joy, release, and presence are often found in the simplest of experiences.

I feel so incredibly grateful to hold space for each of you. Whether we meet on the mat, in a sharing circle, or in the sacred space of birth, it is an honour to witness your reflections through the changing seasons and the many chapters of life. Together we navigate personal transitions, collective emotions, and the ever-changing world around us. Thank you for trusting me and for walking this journey alongside me.

If your summer has drifted away from the intentions you set back in June, consider this a gentle invitation to reconnect. There is still plenty of summer left.

As summer begins its gentle transition toward autumn, I find myself reflecting on the intention I set for this season: simplicity, quality time with loved ones, and freedom. Looking back, I can honestly say this has been one of the most ease-filled summers I can remember. It hasn't felt rushed or overly busy. There has been space to savour the ordinary, to be present with the people I love, and to embrace the freedom that comes with slowing down.

I hope you've found moments like that too.

And if not, perhaps your moment is still waiting for you—windows down, music up, and the rest of summer stretched out ahead.

With gratitude,

Diana
