I am very excited for some up coming classes this weekend. New Year’s seems to be a time for setting goals and making changes to our daily routines and habits. While it’s never a bad thing to set goals and strive for achievements it is also important to remember that the darker days of winter are beckoning us to slow down and conserve energy. Winter is an excellent time for developing a contemplative practice full of time for rest and deep self reflection. We can ask ourselves what is it that is being reborn in ourselves as we approach a new year? Also what do we wish to leave behind in the old year that is no longer serving us?

If we use this time to reflect on our values and what’s important to us we can use these reflections to guide gentle intention setting. What if instead of striving to start this new year strong we allowed ourselves more time for rest and reflection? Giving ourselves to do nothing on purpose. If this resonates with you, you may want to consider one of my upcoming “Yoga for Stress Relief” series.

We will spend some time in guided self reflection during our online class on New Year’s Eve (Dec 31st, 8-9 am) and we will practice an extended self reflection during the Meditation Walk & Winter Celebration set to take place on New Year’s Day (Jan 1st, 1-2:30 pm).

Whatever your new years plans I hope you find a little time to pause and reflect on what matters most to you.

Happy New Year!!! Wishing you all the best in 2023!

In peace,

Diana xo
