Prioritizing Self-Love: A February Journey to Wellness
Diana Steadman | FEB 2, 2025

During the week of the inauguration of President Trump, I found myself stuck in a funk. Political news has never been good for my mental health—it triggers me. That week, I became obsessively attached to updates, watching the destruction unfold. I know I’m not alone in this wallowing behavior. Many of my students have shared their own struggles with the weight of the world.
I decided to make a change. I created a new bedtime routine: screens off by 8 pm, a cup of soothing herbal tea, and a lighthearted book to settle into sleep. I still stay informed but now limit myself to 1-2 news segments from credible sources and avoid endless social media scrolling. I dream of the day when I can clear my feed of the negativity that drags me down.
I also started attending regular fitness classes, and it’s incredible how much movement has improved my mood and energy.
This February, the month of love, let’s prioritize self-love. Self-care, self-compassion, and creating space for our well-being.
As women, we often prioritize others' needs ahead of our own. But how can we pour from an empty cup? Taking time for self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. When we nourish ourselves, we feel more balanced, more present, and better able to show up for the people in our lives.
This month, I invite you to give yourself the gift of presence, peace, and deep care. Let’s take care of ourselves so we can show up with strength, love, and energy for the people and world around us. 💖
Join us for our Valentine's Sound Bath! This experience is all about love—whether you're joining as a couple, with a friend, or on your own to nurture self-love, you are warmly welcome.
