Happy Summer Solstice - What is lighting up your life this summer?

Happy Summer Solstice! Today marks the Summer Solstice—the longest day of the year and a celebration of light.
Summer arrives with so much energy. Here, at the Summer Solstice, we are fully awake. Our spirits feel alive, refreshed, renewed, energized—filled with all that good, juicy, radiant life force that the sun awakens within us.
These long summer days invite us to be outside, to move, to celebrate, to gather, and to soak in every moment. Yet sometimes all of that energy can lead us to overdo it. We fill our calendars to the brim with social engagements, cottage weekends, camping trips, gardening projects, and endless to-do lists. Before we know it, Labour Day arrives and we're left wondering, "How did summer go by so fast?"
I hear this every year from my students.

For the past two summers, I have become increasingly intentional about how I spend my energy. We have a cottage, and I love to entertain. For many years, I packed every summer weekend full of visits from friends and family.
This year, my intention is different.
I want more space.
More rest.
More quiet.
More selectivity around who I spend my time with.
As I took time to reflect this morning, I found myself asking a simple question:
Is this person, activity, or commitment a source of light in my life?
If the answer is yes, I want to make room for it. If the answer is no, I am giving myself permission to let it go.
I want quality time with the people who light up my life and inspire me to be a better version of myself. I want unhurried conversations on the dock, time to paint watercolours, solo mornings with tea and a journal, evenings spent watching the sunset instead of rushing to the next thing.
When autumn arrives, I don't want to feel depleted from trying to do it all.
I want to feel restored, not exhausted.
Content, not drained.
Grateful, not burdened
I want to look back on a season filled not only with beautiful memories, but with moments when I truly paused long enough to be present for them.
As you welcome the season ahead, I invite you to reflect on your own sources of light.
What fills your heart?
What energizes your spirit?
What deserves more of your precious time and attention this summer?
And perhaps most importantly...
What are you ready to release?
May this season bring you warmth, joy, connection, and the wisdom to spend your energy on what matters most.
With love and gratitude,
Diana
Sacred Grace
